NIGSD concludes the activities of the “QualifyingTrainers” course for Kafrelsheikh University affiliates

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD)the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, concluded the “Qualifying Trainers) course.
The course took place within the framework of joint cooperation between NIGSD and Kafrelsheikh University for a group of faculty members and leaders at the university.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD reviewed the origins and role of the Institute, its vision and its mission.
She further explained that the NIGSD works to link governance and sustainable development, noting and that NIGSD’s motto is governance for sustainable development.
Sherif referred to the training programs implemented by the Institute, where the Institute has trained 46,000 trainees at the national level, in addition to training 2,000 trainees outside Egypt in international training programs.
Sherif stressed that the institute is distinguished by its specialization in governance and sustainable development.
She further said that NIGSD is distinguished by the partnerships it holds with the largest international training and educational institutions such as King’s College in London , the University of Chicago, Columbia University, Bin Rashid College in Dubai and other distinguished educational institutions.
Sherif highlighted the initiatives undertaken by NIGSD, including the “Be an Ambassador” initiative for sustainable development, which was launched by the Ministry of Planning in cooperation with the Institute in 2020.
The “Be an Ambassador” initiative aims to build and develop capabilities in the field of sustainable development.
Through this initiative 3,300 young men and women from the ages of 18 to 35 years were qualified to be certified trainers in the field of governance and sustainable development.
Similarly, Sherif referred to the “Green Minds” initiative, which aims to spread awareness and promote sustainable behavior to combat climate change among children and students in schools, for the age group from 6 to 18 years.
This is in addition to the “Salah, Omnia and Development Goals” initiative, which aims to simplify the concept of sustainable development and its goals.

Moreover, Dr. Sherifa Sharif distributed certificates of participation in the training program to 25 trainees, faculty members and leaders of Kafr El-Sheikh University.
For her part, Dr. Rehab Farraj, Director General of Human Capacity Development at NIGSD explained that the training program aims to provide training sessions in accordance with standard guidelines that include describing how to present the training content effectively and innovatively.
