The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the Permanent Supreme Committee for Human Rights, held a symposium on the “National Human Rights Strategy 2021-2026” for several judges and advisors, at the Judges Club River headquarters.Dr. Sherifa Sharif, Executive Director of NIGSD pointed out the approach taken by the Institute to form partnerships with relevant local and international institutions.Sherif added that the institute has taken upon itself the task of change and adopted a new approach to development and service provision, to become a regional knowledge center and have an effective role in implementing national strategies, the most important of which is the "Sustainable Development: Egypt Vision 2030" strategy.Sherif explained that the seminar held by the Institute on the "National Human Rights Strategy 2021-2026" comes within the framework of the cooperation protocol concluded between the Judges Club and the Institute, which was signed out of full awareness of the importance of cooperation between effective and influential institutions in Egypt.Sherif added that the symposium aims to review the features of the national human rights strategy launched by the President of the Republic on September 11, 2021, and open the door for discussion with the attendees about the importance of the strategy and the role of judicial bodies and authorities inactivating it.Regarding the topics of the symposium, Sherif explained that they are represented in the efforts made to promote and protect human rights, the National Human Rights Strategy (2021-2026) in terms of preparation methodology, review of the main axes and items, follow-up, and evaluation of implementation, in addition to the role entrusted to judicial authorities and bodies in implementing the strategy.
