Planning Ministry releases "Citizen Investment Plan" of Luxor in FY 2021/22

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development announced in a report issued by it the features of the “Citizen Investment Plan” for the Luxor Governorate for the year 21/2022. The announcement of the plan came within the framework of continuing to announce the citizen’s plan in all governorates of the Republic for the third year in a row.The announcement aims to educate citizens about the directions and priorities of the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year (21/2022), and its role in achieving “Egypt Vision 2030.”H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, explained that the “Citizen Investment Plan” adopts the methodology of programs and performance and evidence-based planning.The minister explained that the plan provides detailed information on the most important development indicators at the level of each governorate, and its share of public investments in the plan for the fiscal year (21/2022).The “Citizen Investment Plan” also provides information on the investments directed within the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, "a Decent Life", the distribution of these investments among the various sectors, and the most prominent performance indicators that monitor the current state of development in each sector.El-Said added that the “Citizen Investment Plan” is an important database that helps citizens follow up on projects being implemented within their geographical scope (governorate, center, village).Regarding the citizen’s investment plan in Luxor Governorate, El-Said explained that the number of development projects in the governorate amounts to 171 projects and that the value of public investments directed to Luxor Governorate, under the plan for the year 21/2022, amounts to EGP 2.5 billion.Concerning the sectoral distribution of targeted public investments in the Luxor Governorate with a plan for the year 21/2022, the report of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth EGP 679.3 million were directed to the local development sector, at a rate of 27.3%.
EGP 635 million will be allocated for the higher education and scientific research sector, or 25.5%, while, the investments of the housing and slum development sector amount to EGP 508 million, or 20.4%, and the health sector EGP 233.8 million, or 9.4%, and the pre-university education sector will receive EGP 114 million, while other sectors are allocated investments worth EGP 320.5 million, or 12.8%.The report pointed out that the most important development goals of the local development sector in Luxor Governorate in the 21/2022 plan are to pave local roads with about EGP 154 million, in addition to directing EGP 100 million to strengthen the electricity networks in the governorate.
In the field of housing and slum development, EGP 339.5 million were allocated for drinking water and sanitation services, and in the field of health, 13 hospitals were established and developed in Luxor Governorate.
