Main / Media / News / Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence runs a workshop for officials at Matrouh Governorate

23 January 2022

The Egypt Government Excellence Award held a workshop for the leaders of Matrouh Governorate, including heads of city councils, directors of directorates and technology centers, and the Information and Decision Support Center, at the governorate’s general office in preparation for participation in the next session of the award.

The workshop came at the invitation of Major General Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh.

Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that organizing these workshops comes within the framework of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence’s keenness to spread the culture of excellence and institutional development.
El-Said added that such workshops aim to make a qualitative leap in institutional performance and consolidate the principles and values of excellence in the state’s sectors.

Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence, explained that after the end of its second session, the award worked to build strong bridges between it and the sectors of the state’s administrative apparatus by holding a series of awareness seminars and workshops.

Mustafa indicated that the door to communication was opened through the award's hotline 19552 to receive proposals and inquiries.
The award’s electronic platform will soon be launched, through which full support will be provided in the training and workshops process at the level of all categories, and the criteria and how to work on applications for candidacy for the award.

For his part, Major General Ashraf Ibrahim, Secretary-General of the Governorate, praised; What the award administration offers to spread the culture of excellence and to ensure continuous communication and coordination during the various stages of the award.
Ibrahim added that all sectors in the governorate are currently working to participate in the next round of the award, by raising the efficiency of the service and technology sectors to better reflect on the quality of citizens' lives.

During the workshop, the dimensions and pillars of Egypt's Vision 2030 were reviewed, which are consistent with the vision, mission, and objectives of the award, the different categories of the award, and the stages that are being implemented.

Some facts and figures witnessed by service units at the level of the Republic, including Matrouh Governorate, were also reviewed.

It was also highlighted what happened during the second cycle of a 100% electronic transformation of all applications for nomination and evaluation, which contributed significantly to reducing the percentage of exclusions to 14% instead of 39% in the first cycle.
