H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, participated recently in the International Art Forum held at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
 The forum witnessed the presence of Dr. Ghada Wali, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ms. Elena Panova, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Egypt, Mr. Ahmed Ghoneim, Director of the National Museum of Civilization, plastic artist Randa Fouad, President of the Cheranda Foundation and President of the International Art Forum - Art for sustainable development".


At the beginning of her speech during the opening session of the forum, El-Said praised the distinguished and non-stereotypical choice of the topic of this forum, which is the link between sustainable development and plastic art, arts, and culture in general, explaining that the lofty message of art is to raise public taste in society.
She added that this message comes at the heart of the development plans and efforts of the Egyptian state, foremost of which is the Egypt Vision 2030 (in its updated version), where the provision of a system of supportive cultural values ​​represents one of the necessary possibilities and tools that are used in implementing policies, initiatives, and programs, to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of implementing and achieving the vision. developmental.
El-Said pointed to the state's keenness to develop Egypt's cultural and artistic heritage by investing in institutional development that achieves this, and within this framework comes the establishment of the new Opera House in the Administrative Capital and the establishment of the new City of Culture and Arts, the largest in the Middle East.

Concerning the role of art and culture in promoting awareness and positive participation in development efforts, El-Said clarified that there is a common link between art, culture, and development is awareness. There is no doubt that arts and culture enhance the awareness necessary for development.
El-Said concluded her speech by emphasizing the keenness of the Ministry of Planning to enhance the participatory approach, stimulate positive participation and enhance levels of transparency and disclosure in preparing development plans by holding community dialogue meetings as well as issuing a citizen plan for all governorates for three consecutive years (19/20, 20/21, 21). /22).
