NIGSD offers a scholarship on the basics of life coaching to eight African countries

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, held a training model on the basics of life coaching for several trainees representing 8 different African countries, graduates of the Institute’s various training programs, graduates of the African Women’s Leadership Program and the Association of the African Network of Management and Training Institutes for Development for the years 2020 and 2021.Dr. Sharifa Sharif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, explained that the scholarship program was developed to help its participants identify their goals and priorities in life.The program also works to give its entrants the ability to restore balance and self-confidence, so that they can achieve their specific goals to become a tangible reality on the ground. It also helps the participants to achieve their desired goals in their professional and personal lives.
Sherif added that the goal of the training program is achieved by providing participants with various tools to improve decision-making skills and improve confidence levels. The model also provides effective ways to cope with daily stress. The model also helps participants examine their lives and feelings in different ways so that they feel in constant control to change an undesirable situation.For their part, the scholarship participants emphasized that the program is an opportunity to improve and deepen their knowledge of life coaching, development, and positive impact on their environment and enhance their position as active players in the development of their societies and countries.
The training program was delivered in English over two consecutive weeks to the following countries: Sierra Leone, Uganda, South Sudan, Kenya, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Algeria, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
