Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, mourned the death of Dr. Counselor Tahani Al-Jabali, former Vice President of the Supreme Constitutional Court, who passed away this morning, Sunday, as a result of being infected with the Coronavirus.
Dr. Hala El-Said said that the Egyptian state has today lost an honorable symbol of the Egyptian judiciary and an inspiring example for Egyptian women.
El-Said noted that the deceased was the first Egyptian woman to assume the profession of the judiciary in the contemporary era, in addition to her leading role in the field of defending women's rights.
El-Said added that the deceased contributed in various stages of her life since graduating from the Faculty of Law in 1973 in writing an important chapter of the success of Egyptian women in a field that was difficult for women to overcome at that time.
It is worth mentioning that Chancellor Tahani Al-Gabali was the highest judicial position held by a woman in Egypt after a republican decision was issued in 2003 to appoint her as Vice-President of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
