Governmental Excellence and Supreme Universities Follow the Final Judging Process for Assiut University Awards

The work team of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence, headed by Eng. Khaled Mustafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence, and Dr. Dalia Sami, Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, paid an official visit to Assiut University.The visit came intending to follow up on the final judging process for the internal awards at the university, which began last November when 18 colleges presented awards for institutional and individual excellence. The visit witnessed a meeting with Dr. Tarek El-Gammal, President of Assiut University.Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Hala El-Said said that the implementation of the internal awards system in government agencies in the state’s administrative apparatus stems from the keenness of the management of Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence to implement the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030.The implementation of the system also aims to improve the quality of life of the citizen and enhance the leadership and competitiveness of the Egyptian state. The launch of the system came in the implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister regarding the importance of starting the implementation of the internal awards system in the state’s administrative apparatus.On his part, Dr. Tarek El-Gamal, President of the University, expressed his appreciation for the relationship of cooperation between the university and the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence, praising the efforts made by the award throughout the previous period, stressing the importance of deepening the culture of institutional excellence within the state’s administrative apparatus, which is reflected in the quality of life of the citizen.Dr. Dalia Sami, Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, said that within the framework of the important visit to the university, the Council seeks to provide full support and overcome obstacles to spread and implement the system of excellence within public universities.


It is noteworthy that Assiut University will announce the results of the internal awards at the beginning of next January, as the first public university to launch the system of internal excellence awards.
