20 December 2021

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - concluded its training program entitled "Strengthening the Understanding of International Trade for Youth" for some representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises. The training took place in cooperation with the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), the Arab-African Trade Bridges Program, the Egyptian Exporters Association - Expolink, and the Foreign Trade Training Center. The training program comes within the framework of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between NIGSD and Expolink to spread export awareness and provide academic content on export for incubated projects to support innovators and provide them with opportunities to motivate them to export in general and integrate them into global value chains.Dr. Sharifa Sharif, Executive Director of NIGSD, said that NIGSD seeks to include all economic actors from the public and private sectors and civil society in the sustainable development process. This is in light of the institute’s approach of forming partnerships with relevant local and international institutions to expand its expertise, within the framework of achieving the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030.Dr. Sharifa Sharif indicated that the goal of the training program is to build local cadres in the field of creativity and innovation and to ensure the participation of the largest possible number of young people who wish to export. The training course included many axes, including customs procedures, rules regulating the import and export process, methods and means of payment in international trade, international trade terms, shipping, and logistics, in addition to international trade agreements and rules of certificates of origin.
