Egypt’s NIGSD launches the “She is a Digital Future” program for groups from four to six

The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, launched the “She is for a Digital Future” training program for many women representing the fourth, fifth, and sixth groups of the program.
Its activities will continue until January 6, in cooperation with CISCO and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which will be held via the Zoom electronic platform.
Dr. Sharifa Sharif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, said that the training program aims to train 2,000 women as a first stage, to develop and strengthen the capabilities of these women to bridge the digital divide, and develop knowledge of sustainable development goals, financial inclusion and gender mainstreaming.Sherif affirmed the political leadership’s keenness on equal opportunities and justice between the sexes, through the national strategy for women’s empowerment, which includes directing to follow up on the developments in the implementation position of the initiatives proposed by the Ministry of Planning and the National Council for Women (NCW) concerning empowering women and placing them in decision-making positions.
Sherif indicated that the initiative comes within the framework of enhancing the role of women in digital transformation and digital literacy by training female candidates from Egyptian universities and the government sector without discrimination, stressing that the initiative includes training courses in general and advanced computer skills, as well as training courses in gender parity and inclusion.
The training program includes a set of pieces of training under the auspices of CiSCO, which includes a training entitled Get Connected, and it includes several axes: computer basics, full knowledge of the social network, in addition to a training entitled Introduction to Cyber security.
Its themes are represented in the need for electronic security, data protection and privacy, the protection of the institution, in addition to a set of training programs under the auspices of UNDP, including a lecture on the adoption of sustainable development goals in our lives, access to financial inclusion, and popularizing the concept of gender equality.
It is noteworthy that the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development had concluded the training of the second and third groups of the "She is a Digital Future" program, where the two groups were implemented in parallel over 12 training days for 50 women from Egyptian ministries.
