The Minister of Planning and Economic Development meets the Bulgarian Minister of Economy to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, met with Mrs. Daniela Vezeeva, Bulgarian Minister of Economy, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the countries of Egypt and Bulgaria.
El-Said stressed the strength of the Egyptian-Bulgarian relations, referring to the visit of the Bulgarian Prime Minister to Egypt in January 2020 at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the inauguration of the Berenice Naval Base.She also referred to the round of political consultations in Sofia with the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs in December 2020, explaining that the High Committee for Cooperation between the two governments was scheduled to be held in the first quarter of 2020.El-Said stressed that Egypt is Bulgaria's largest trading partner in the Middle East, stressing Egypt's keenness on this cooperation between the two countries.El-Said reviewed the role and tasks of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, where visions were exchanged regarding the role of the ministry in Egypt in developing plans in partnership with various ministries, whether long-term, medium-term or annual plans.The conversation also touched on the ministry's role in its presidency of Egypt's Sovereign Fund for Investment and Development and how this would be an area of cooperation, explaining that the fund establishes partnerships with local, regional, and international investment institutions.El-Said explained that there are several areas of cooperation between Egypt and Bulgaria, including cooperation in the field of military production, as well as the field of new and renewable energy, which represents one of the important areas, and cooperation in the field of tourism, which has witnessed great progress, which was reflected in the presence of a group of airlines to transport tourists.
El-Said also stressed that Egypt seeks to enter into partnerships to localize modern technologies in all fields, which is an appropriate opportunity for cooperation with Bulgaria.For her part, the Bulgarian Minister of Economy confirmed that her country has a real desire to expand economic cooperation with Egypt, and expressed its willingness to build partnerships in several technological fields during the coming period, stressing her appreciation for the Egyptian experience in creating an economic boom in recent years and achieving high growth rates despite the Corona pandemic.
At the end of the meeting, the two ministers exchanged souvenirs.
