03 December 2021

The delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, headed by Brigadier General Mohamed Hamido, Director of the Localities Development Project at the ministry, participated in the opening of some technology centers in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate through video conference technology, in the presence of Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Local Development, and Major General Gamal Nour El-Din, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh.
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, asserted the ministry’s keenness to follow up on the establishment and development of technology centers at the governorate level, and to provide the necessary support for that, to facilitate the process for citizens to obtain services while saving time and effort.El-Said noted that the mechanization and development of all governorate centers and cities have been completed with a total of 13 centers and cities. The aforementioned development came within the framework of the national project adopted by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the relevant authorities and ministries, to raise the efficiency of the performance of the state’s administrative apparatus, develop local services, and implement the mandates of the President of the Republic to activate the one-stop-shop system to serve citizens.Brigadier General Mohamed Hamido, Director of the Localities Development Project at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, indicated the ministry's keenness to provide aspects of support to technology centers in all governorates, as it is of great importance in raising the efficiency of the level of government services provided to citizens to include linking all technology centers together through the main data center.Hamido explained that the center provides accurate data, information, and performance indicators in the field of citizen service to decision-makers, which will be positively reflected on the level of services, provided to citizens and reduce the time required to complete the service.Hamido added that the project also aims to separate the service provider from its requester, thus creating a suitable work environment to create more transparency in the provision of services, as well as reviewing the statistics and performance indicators of interest to the decision-maker regarding the volume of requests submitted and the speed of their completion.

During the opening, the delegation of the Ministry of Planning reviewed the workflow within the technology centers and the provision of services to citizens with ease and speed in performing services in short time frames. It is noteworthy that the technology centers provide nearly (140) services to citizens, most notably building and demolition permits, a request for reconciliation for a building violation, a request to amend a permit, a request for a statement of validity, and a request for a license to operate a shop.Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, implemented all phases of the project, including developing systems and applications, providing devices and equipment, and training cadres working on all applications, in addition to the ministry providing continuous technical support and follow-up to maintain work efficiency.
