The work team of the Egypt Award for Governmental Excellence at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development met with Dr. Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Civil Work Institutions, to discuss the participation of the Ministry of Solidarity for the third time in the next cycle of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence.
The meeting also evaluated the reports and recommendations that were monitored during the evaluation phase of the award.The visit comes within the framework of the state’s efforts to spread a culture of excellence and institutional development, and honor outstanding performers in all sectors, while providing support to government agencies during their journey towards government excellence to improve the quality of life for citizens and enhance the leadership and competitiveness of the Egyptian state in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and supervisor of the Egypt Award for Governmental Excellence, confirmed that the award administration is in the process of launching its electronic platform, which will be a beacon of government excellence in the state's administrative apparatus. It aims to provide full support in the process of training and workshops at the level of all categories, which are presented by a group of experts in the field of excellence, to provide all information about the award and its categories, and explain the criteria for nomination and evaluation, and how to work on applications for candidacy.During the meeting, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Ayman Abdel Mawgod, explained that the ministry is preparing from now on to participate with more groups in the next session of the award, stressing that it is necessary to build on what the ministry has reached in previous sessions and to work continuously to raise the spirit of competitiveness to provide better services, in light of the competence of the Ministry of Solidarity to facilitate the citizens and provide a large number of services to the different groups in the country.

The Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity also suggested that social service units participate in the next session, as these units represent a great service source for the Ministry of Solidarity in all directorates of the Republic, noting that the number of these units reaches 2,650 units and 317 social administrations, explaining that the automation of 30% of these units are in progress, and the rest of the units are being completed.For his part, Dr. Mohamed Mohamedy, Director of Evaluation for the Egypt Award for Government Excellence, discussed the most important recommendations that the evaluation teams monitored in the field visits to previous sessions, pointing to several proposals that include offering internal prizes to raise the spirit of competition between offices and rehabilitation centers to provide better services to citizens, which is what It was well received by the Assistant Minister of Solidarity.Mohammadi added that the award in its first session was working with special standards for services, and in the second cycle of the award 2020, the global star system for rating services was implemented, as one of the initiatives emanating from the advanced programs for distinguished government services in the world. He pointed out that this program aims to improve the quality of government services by focusing on designing services that put the customer at the center of their attention and seek to achieve employee satisfaction, in addition to improving operational efficiency to provide distinguished services.He explained that this integrated system is the first of its kind in the world and sets a world-class standard that helps government agencies measure, improve, and transform the field of service provision.It is noteworthy that the Social Rehabilitation Office in Sohag won first place in the category of Social Rehabilitation Offices, and the Social Rehabilitation Offices in Kafr Saad, and Zarqa in Damietta ranked second and third, in the second cycle of the Egypt Award for Governmental Excellence 2020.
