Planning Ministry’s delegation discusses strategic plans for Gharbia Governorate’s cities & villages

A Planning Ministry delegation headed by Dr. Heba Mughaib, supervisor of the regional planning sector, participated recently in the coordination meeting to discuss updating the strategic plans for the cities and villages of the Gharbia governorate. The meeting came within the framework of preparing strategic plans for the centers of Gharbia Governorate. The meeting was attended by Eng. Alaa El-Din Abdel-Fattah, head of the Urban Planning Authority, Major General Dr. Hussein El-Gendy, Secretary-General, Ms. Najwa Al-Ashery, Assistant Secretary, directors of directorates, and heads of centers and cities.Dr. Heba Mughaib, supervisor of the regional planning sector at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, indicated that the implementation and financing of projects will be through linking urban plans with investment plans, which allows for good project planning and optimum use of all financial allocations.Dr. Tariq Rahmi, Governor of Gharbia, reviewed some of the problems facing the governorate, such as the solid waste file, the slum file, and the parking and land shortages in the governorate to set up projects.Engineer Alaa Abdel-Fattah, head of the Urban Planning Authority, indicated that the goal of the strategic plans is to address the planning gap between governorates, cities, and villages by adopting a planning methodology to activate and achieve the objectives of the general strategic plans.It is noteworthy that the delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development may inspect some projects of the investment plan for Gharbia Governorate on the sidelines of the participation in the coordination meeting, which included projects to develop the (Al-Sayyid Al-Badawi )Mosque and its surroundings.
