Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development participates in the CSR annual Forum

Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development participated on Monday in the activities of The Eleventh Forum for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development in Egypt, which was organized by CSR Egypt under the title “Sustainability from Adoption to Settlement … The Path to Recovery.”The forum aims to support the efforts of the state and provide an opportunity for the concerned parties to achieve effective partnerships that accelerate the recovery process and push the wheel of development forward to provide a decent life for the Egyptian citizen.During a session entitled "Partnership to Promote Spatial Justice for Sustainable Development", Dr. Mona Essam, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, confirmed that the ministry is working to spread awareness of sustainable development goals at the local community level, intending to achieve comprehensive community development.Essam added that development gaps were monitored in the governorates, noting that governorates that need economic resources were identified to improve the standard of living of citizens and improve their performance.
All the aforementioned efforts aim to improve Egypt's ranking in the competitiveness index, as well as paying attention to the approach to planning from the bottom, and relying on objective evaluation about the position of sustainable development in each governorate, and the monitoring and follow-up of indicators.For her part, Dr. Ghada Khalil, Director of the Pioneer “2030 Project” at the Ministry, in a session that discussed the features of the integrated system of entrepreneurship in the future, pointed to the inclusion of the (Rowad) 2030 project on the United Nations platforms as one of the projects that achieve sustainable development goals.Khalil stressed that the ministry is keen to pay attention to achieving sustainable development goals about entrepreneurship by working on three main pillars: the educational axis, business incubators, and awareness.She noted the launch of the "One Million Entrepreneurs" campaign, which comes within the framework of the educational pillar.
This pillar aims to improve the quality of education, change the culture of self-employment, and instill the idea of entrepreneurship in young people, by training them to find appropriate opportunities and innovation projects.On the second pillar of business incubators; Dr. Ghada Khalil explained that 9 business incubators have been established, with a focus on supporting artificial intelligence and influencing economic development, to spread the idea of sustainability.
