Minister of Planning and Economic Development meets IsDB Secretary-General to discuss the steps for Egypt to host the annual meetings of the Bank Group

H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Chair of the Board of Governors of the Islamic held recently a meeting with Dr. Ghassan El-Baba, secretary General of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), to study the executive steps for arranging Egypt’s hosting of the annual meetings of the Bank Group’s Board of Governors next year 2022. The meeting also discussed agreeing on the coordination frameworks for this important event, which is expected to witness the attendance of nearly 4,000 people from the Islamic Bank Group member countries.It was also agreed to study the projects that will be announced for signature between Egypt and the Bank Group, and the events that could be launched on the sidelines of the annual meetings.Dr. Hala El-Said asserted Egypt's interest in hosting the annual meetings of the Islamic Bank Group as an important occasion that brings together representatives of member states and provides more opportunities for cooperation between the members of the Bank.El-Said also clarified that Egypt now chairs the Board of Governors, which makes this event an opportunity to deepen cooperation between the Egyptian state and the Bank's organizations on the one hand, and between Egypt and the rest of the Islamic Bank members on the other hand.The Minister of Planning and Economic Development stressed that Egypt has the ability and will to conduct these meetings in a manner commensurate with the size of Egypt's capabilities and its high capabilities to organize major events.For his part, Dr. Ghassan Al-Baba said that the Islamic Bank Group looks forward to the annual meetings that Egypt will organize.
He noted that these meetings are unprecedented that will witness wide cooperation to increase the volume of cooperation and solidarity among the member countries of the Islamic Bank.

It is noteworthy that Egypt had won the honor of organizing the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group last September, in the previous session of the annual meetings in Tashfand, for the first time in 30 years.
