Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development thanked the Government Excellence Award team at the Ministry, for their belief in the idea of the award and its dissemination and cooperation with various parties to instill and develop a culture of excellence. She also congratulated the winners of the Egypt Government Excellence Award in its second session.Her Excellency also thanked all ministries and state institutions participating in the award for their continuous interaction and cooperation with the award team from the ministry, which contributed to the completion of this work and access to this ceremony. This came at the conclusion of the ceremony to announce the Egypt Awards for Government Excellence, which was held today under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future in the sisterly United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Al Gergawi, with the participation of a number of ministers.During her speech, El-Said said that the ceremony comes as an affirmation of the continuation of the Egyptian state's march towards excellence, and its keenness to spread the culture of creativity and excellence in state institutions. El-Said explained that despite the great challenges faced by various countries of the world as a result of the repercussions of the "Covid 19" virus, there was a great determination to continue working and not stop the journey towards excellence.
El-Said added that the celebration confirms the presence of energies, capabilities and determination to achieve success, adding that the ceremony will contribute to motivating many state institutions to enter this race towards excellence and creativity.El-Said added that the Egypt Award for Government Excellence was launched in 2018 under the patronage of the President of the Republic, and in cooperation with the sisterly United Arab Emirates, which aims at expertise, experiences and best practices in the areas of developing institutional performance, government services, innovation and excellence.El-Said explained that the Egypt Government Excellence Award aims to stimulate the spirit of competition and excellence, whether at the level of workers or at the level of government institutions.El-Said added that the goal of "governance of state institutions and strengthening partnerships" is related to the UN sustainable development goals, especially the sixteenth goals, which are "achieving peace, justice and strong institutions", and the seventeenth goal, which is concerned with "contracting partnerships", stressing that there is no development without strong institutions supported by a development partnership that includes the private sector and civil society along with the government.El-Said said that the Egypt Award for Government Excellence is divided into two categories of sub-awards represented in awards for institutional excellence and awards for individual excellence in order to consolidate the values of governance, explaining that a number of new categories were added in the second cycle of the award under the guidance of the Prime Minister, to enhance the culture of Excellence at all levels of work.El-Said pointed to the launch of the Human Development Report in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program entitled ‘Development, a Right for All: Egypt’s Pathways and Prospects’El-Said stressed that it represents one of the most important international reports that monitor with complete impartiality the status of human development worldwide, explaining that the report referred to the role of the award in raising the efficiency of government institutions, in testimony to the importance of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence and its role in stimulating the spirit of competition and excellence among workers.El-Said added that the report monitored the efforts of the Egyptian state during the past seven years with its achievements and challenges, and the implemented projects and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of the Egyptian citizen, as well as monitoring the efforts made in the field of governance, which is one of the main pillars of promoting the right to development.
El-Said concluded, stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development to continue the strategic partnership in various fields of cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, including cooperation in the establishment of a distinguished government services center in Aswan, and the file of government capacity building in the areas of promoting a culture of innovation at work and strategic directives to foresee the future. El-Said also thanked the Government Excellence Award team at the Ministry for their belief in the idea of the award and its dissemination and cooperation with various parties to instill and develop a culture of excellence. She also congratulated the winners of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence in its second session.The ceremony was attended by guests of Egypt from the sisterly United Arab Emirates, a group of ministers, ambassadors, members of parliament, members of judicial bodies and university presidents, as well as distinguished elite of media professionals, thinkers and government officials.
