Minister of Planning & Economic Development meets Thai Ambassador to discuss investment opportunities

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development received Mr. Puttaporn Ewtoksan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Arab Republic of Egypt to discuss areas of attracting Thai investors to invest in Egypt.
At the beginning of the meeting, El-Said welcomed the visit of the Thai ambassador and reviewed the Egyptian efforts in the success of the national program for economic and social reform, and the measures taken by the government to confront the Covid-19 crisis.
The Minister of Planning and Economic Development also indicated that the Egyptian government gives priority to policies that support the green economy, explaining the ministry's role in the public investment file and achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030.
She also referred to the role of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMS), The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE), and the National Institute for Governance and Development sustainable (NIGSD).
For his part, the Thai ambassador praised the great changes that occurred in Egypt during the previous period and expressed his desire to activate cooperation in the economic field, as Egypt is a promising country concerning investment opportunities and the future, especially in light of the economic reforms that the country is witnessing.
He explained that the areas that Thai investors will want to invest in in Egypt are the agricultural and solar energy fields.
During the meeting, the two sides referred to the long history of Egyptian-Thai relations and mutual understanding at all levels, and to the joint higher committee between the two sides to follow up on activating aspects of cooperation.
Reference was also made to the high-level meetings that bring the two sides together regularly, including the recent meeting between President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the Thai Prime Minister in China.
