The Human Development Report 2021 refers to Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence as one of the important frameworks for developing the state’s administrative apparatus

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that the Human Development Report included a reference to a set of basic pillars that countries should work on and motivate them to strengthen governance.
El-Said pointed out that among them comes the development of the state's administrative apparatus; which in turn includes the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence. El-Said emphasized that the report deals in depth with all development issues and concerns; which makes him an accurate observer of the state of development in Egypt, with its challenges and achievements.
For his part, Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and supervisor of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence, explained that the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence was launched in 2018 to stimulate the spirit of competition and excellence at the level of employees on the one hand, and at the level of government institutions on the other.
Mostafa referred to honoring the distinguished in the performance of public services morally and materially, which consolidates the values of giving, belonging, and excellence, and motivates everyone to raise performance levels to contribute to achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 regarding the formation of an efficient and effective administrative apparatus that contributes to achieving development.
Mustafa explained that the award aims to encourage competition between government institutions at all national, local, and regional levels, achieve better rates of citizen satisfaction, spread a culture of quality and excellence, enhance the spirit of innovation, and shed light on successful models of government institutions.
Regarding the categories of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence, Eng. Khaled Mostafa explained that it includes six awards: the Distinguished Institution Award, the Distinguished Unit, Government Services, Institutional Innovation and Creativity, the Distinguished Leaders Award, and Individual Excellence.
