Egypt is keen to boost cooperation with the Islamic Bank Group: Minister of Planning

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development who is acting also as Governor of Egypt at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group held via video conferencing technology a meeting with Dr. Mohammed Sulaiman Al-Jasser the new head of the Islamic Development Bank
During the meeting, much cooperation was discussed, including coordination in Egypt’s hosting of the annual meeting of the member states. Arrangements were also discussed for the opening of the headquarters of the Bank’s regional office in Egypt, which comes in implementation of the agreement signed between the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Islamic Development Bank Group on October 4, 2018.
The dimensions of the coordination roles and tasks entrusted to the Bank's regional office were discussed, as well as its role in opening areas for an in-depth discussion on the various potential areas of cooperation between the two sides.
For her part, Dr. Hala El-Said asserted Egypt's keenness to deepen cooperation with the Bank Group and all Islamic Bank institutions and to play an active role in developing the Bank's business.
El-Said indicated that the opening of the bank’s regional office in Egypt will enhance cooperation and coordination between the various financial institutions of the bank and the Egyptian, Arab and African business community to benefit from the services provided by these institutions, which in turn supports the flow of local and foreign investments.
