Minister of Planning and Economic Development witnesses the signing of MoU between “Rowad 2030” Project & Gemini Africa

Entrepreneurship is our way to invest in the energies of young people: Says Hala El-Said
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ministry's 2030 Pioneers Project and Gemini Enterprise Africa, intending to support sustainable development in the field of knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Ghada Khalil, Director of the Rowad 2030 Project, and Eng. Adly Wajih Touma, CEO and Managing Director of Gemini Enterprise Africa, in the presence of Eng. Naguib Sawiris, President of Orascom Telecom, Counselor Mohamed Abazid, Legal Adviser to the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and Dr. Sherifa Sherif, Director Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD).
Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding, Dr. Hala El-Said asserted that the Ministry of Planning believes in the importance of spreading the culture of entrepreneurship among Egyptian youth, as young people are Egypt's real wealth, and represent about 60% of Egypt's population.
Therefore, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development launched the Rowad 2030 project in 2018, to stimulate and enrich the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship by developing an integrated system for entrepreneurship so that it becomes a basic pillar for implementing Egypt’s Vision 2030.
El-Said added that over about four years since the launch of the Rowad 2030 project, the project has achieved many achievements, most notably the launch of the Master of Professional Entrepreneurship program in cooperation with the British University of Cambridge and the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, in addition to the launch of the "Start Your Future campaign" to spread the culture of entrepreneurship in schools and universities.
El-Said referred to the impact of the Coronavirus on all sectors and economic activities, which called on all parties and development partners to create new paths for growth and development.
For her part, Dr. Ghada Khalil explained that the goal of the cooperation is to spread the culture of entrepreneurship and self-employment in Africa by implementing incubation programs for the people of the African continent through the Egyptian-African incubator owned by Gemini Company, in line with the Egyptian orientation towards Africa and line with the objectives of Africa Agenda 2063.
This is in addition to placing special attention on the governorates of Upper Egypt, especially (Luxor - Aswan - Qena), in addition to cooperating in establishing a recruitment bank for entrepreneurs, which is a bank specialized in providing employment opportunities for entrepreneurs within emerging companies specialized in the field of entrepreneurship, which contributes to reducing unemployment rates and providing job opportunities for young people.
Engineer Adly Touma, CEO of Gymnai Africa and founder of the "Cinematics" track, which is the first program in the world that works to inject technology into the film industry through entrepreneurship, indicated that this agreement comes from the two parties' belief in the importance of developing awareness of Egyptian youth in line with the great development in the field of entrepreneurship.
He also added that cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development through the Rowad 2030 project adds a new dimension to providing unprecedented support to discover the energies and talents of young people in different and diverse fields of entrepreneurship.
