The Egypt Government Excellence Award held an awareness seminar for the leaders and employees of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade and its affiliates on the stages of the award’s operations and the system of government excellence, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade.



The organization of the symposium comes within the framework of the state’s efforts to spread the culture of excellence and institutional development, and the keenness of the Egypt Government Excellence Award to make a qualitative leap in institutional performance in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
During the symposium’s activities, Ms. Soha Said, Executive Director of the Award presented an overview of the dimensions and pillars of Egypt’s Vision 2030, which are consistent with the vision, mission, and objectives of the Award, as well as the values ​​that govern the award’s operations of transparency, cooperation, and mastery.


Ms. Suha Saeed also referred to the various categories of the award, the stages of implementation of the work of the second cycle of the award, and the criteria of the government excellence system.


She also shed light on some successful models of institutions and individuals in the government sector from the winners in the first session, as well as praising the participation of the Ministry of Supply in the current session to qualify its candidates in many award categories to the finals.


The Executive Director of the Egypt Government Excellence Award explained that the achievements of the second cycle of the award included 19 categories, for which more than 2,000 applications were submitted, while 4 new categories were created, including the best government employee, the best work team, the best health office, and the best catering office.

She emphasized that the second cycle witnessed a 100% electronic transformation of all applications and evaluation processes, which contributed to reducing the percentage of exclusions to 14% instead of 39% in the first cycle.


 Experts from Egypt, the UAE, Jordan, and other nationalities also participated in the evaluation, and the arbitration process was carried out by an independent committee from the Emirates.


Ms. Soha Saeed also reviewed how to apply and participate in the Individual Excellence Awards category, the Institutional Innovation and Creativity Award, the Distinguished Websites Award in the provision of government services, the training courses and workshops provided by the award management at the level of all categories, in addition to the training programs provided on electronic communication platforms.


For his part, Brigadier General Khaled Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Supply and Internal Trade for the Planning, Development, and Financial and Administrative Affairs Sector, praised the content of the symposium, stressing the ministry's keenness to participate effectively in the work of the new session of the award.


Sharaf referred to the issuance of the decision of the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade to form the organizational committee concerned with taking coordinating measures for the participation of the ministry, affiliated agencies, and supply directorates in the governorates in the next session of the Egypt Award for Governmental Excellence.
