Planning Ministry delegation visits Gharbia Governorate to link it to the Information Infrastructure System

A delegation of officials from the "National Center for Spatial Information Infrastructure" of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development visited recently Gharbia Governorate, intending to link the governorate to the information infrastructure system, and providing a base map for the governorate.
This is in the context of continuing efforts to link the centers of the spatial information infrastructure with the sub-units of the spatial information infrastructure in the governorates.
Dr. Hala El-Said , Minister of Planning and Economic Development, explained that the ministry, in cooperation with the Military Survey Department, is linking the spatial information infrastructure centers with the sub-SIT units in the governorates intending to maximize the benefit of the project’s outputs within the governorates by launching the geo-spatial data platform.El-Said added that linking with the system helps the governorates to build specialized applications and a geographic portal for the governorate's activities, as well as preparing performance indicators that serve decision-makers at various planning levels and in a manner that serves the development plans of the state.
El-Said indicated that the first phase of linking and integration with the governorates is taking place at the level of 14 governorates, and the linking of the governorates of Cairo and Qalyubia has been completed, in addition to linking the Gharbia governorate, and the rest of the governorates are expected to be completed during 2022.The visit of a delegation from the Ministry of Planning to Gharbia Governorate included a meeting with Ahmed Atta, Deputy Governor, where the system was reviewed and the aspects of benefiting from it, as well as aspects of cooperation in entering the governorate’s spatial data and its integration with the governorate’s systems.The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense represented by the Military Survey Department, launched the "National Center for Spatial Information Infrastructure" in August 2020, intending to organize dealing with spatial data at the national level, and following up on projects in the country and their assets.
