Minister of Planning and Economic Development discusses the latest developments of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development who is acting also as chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Demographic Center in Cairo, held a meeting to discuss the latest developments of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Eng. Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, Assistant Minister of Planning for Digital Transformation, Dr. Amira Tawadros, and Director of the Demographic Center in Cairo, and Mr. Tarek Abdel Khaleq, Head of the Human Resources Sector at the Ministry.During the meeting, El-Said emphasized that the national family development project has a major role in improving the quality of life of Egyptian citizens and families by controlling population growth and improving population characteristics.El-Said explained that the meeting comes within the framework of the continuous follow-up of the implemented steps and procedures that contribute to the entry into force of the project.El-Said reviewed the strategic plan with integrated dimensions and axes for the implementation of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family.The plan is based on several pillars, most notably the economic empowerment of women, which is represented in training two million women, establishing small and micro projects for about one million women, organizing home visits by the Ministry of Health to meet women’s needs for family planning methods, as well as providing training for rural women leaders, and pushing for more From female doctors to provide the means of organization.Dr. Amira Tawadros indicated that the first meeting of the committee to develop the training manual for religious leaders in Egypt was held during the first week of this month. The meeting discussed the important role played by religious leaders in raising awareness of the population issue and its economic, social, and humanitarian dimensions in general.
During the meeting, it was agreed to develop an action plan to finalize the launch of the training guide for religious leaders in Egypt within a few weeks, in preparation for conducting training for religious leaders using this guide immediately after the official launch of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family.Dr. Amira Tawadros also reviewed the most prominent implementation steps taken in the digital transformation pillar of the project, and the first features of the mechanization of the family development system, and the demographic observatory.
