Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence, Civil Status Sector consider adding civil registry offices and traffic licensing units in the award’s next cycle

Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence team, headed by Eng. Khaled Mostafa, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Award met; Brigadier Marwan Al-Samahi, Director of Quality Assurance Department in the Civil Status Sector.
The meeting sought to coordinate the sector’s participation in the award in its new session, as part of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence’s efforts to gradually expand its categories to include all government agencies.The award team had previously met with Major General Tarek Saber, Assistant Minister of Interior for the Civil Status Sector, and many sector leaders to discuss procedures for coordinating the sector’s participation in the third cycle of the Egypt Award for Government Excellence.Eng. Khaled Mostafa explained that the visit comes within the framework of working to implement some initiatives and recommendations based on the outcomes of the second cycle of the Egypt Award for Gov't Excellence 2020, most notably the creation of new categories for the third cycle of the award to include the civil status sector (civil registry offices) as well as the traffic and civil protection sector (traffic licensing units).This is to enhance the state’s efforts to spread a culture of excellence and institutional development to improve the quality of life for citizens and enhance the leadership and competitiveness of the Egyptian state in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.Mustafa stressed that the aim of the award is not just to honor outstanding performers, but to provide continuous support to government agencies to continue their journey towards government excellence.He also reviewed the stages of the award, starting with training on standards and how to submit an application for candidacy, and the progress made by the award’s work team in expanding the base of certified trainers and being able to train thousands despite the Covid-19 pandemic.For his part, Brigadier Marwan Al-Samahi expressed the sector's keenness to research and study the evidence of the award criteria in coordination with the award management to participate effectively in the work of the new session of the award.
Al-Samahi pointed to the achievements of the civil status in developing civil registry services and making it easier for citizens to obtain services not only by visiting mechanized centers but also by making them available via the website, as well as hotline services, in addition to creating a department specialized in translating documents into 15 languages.Ms. Soha Saeed, Executive Director of the Award, reviewed the award categories that are in line with the nature of the sector's work and the conditions for progress while clarifying the tasks of the "Excellence Coordinator" at the entity, which is the point of contact between the entity and the award management.Dr. Muhammad Mohammadi, Director of Evaluation and Quality at the award also reviewed the pillars and criteria of the Egyptian government services evaluation system, which includes the customer experience pillar.This pillar focuses on providing a customer experience that achieves his satisfaction through the various stages of his journey to obtain the service, and the focus on the customers and focuses on the importance of the entity's understanding of its customers, and how to use the database associated with them to provide its services better.
