Main / Media / News / The Rowad 2030 (entrepreneurs 2030) project continues governorates' youth meetings

15 September 2021

'Rowad 2030' (entrepreneurship) project of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development held recently a meeting with the youth camp at the (Leaders Preparation Center) in Banha City, Qalyubia Governorate, and another meeting with the (Siwa Oasis) Local Council for entrepreneurship training.

These meetings came within the framework of the “ONE MILLION ENTREPRENEURS” campaign (The campaign aims to qualify 1 million entrepreneurs by the year 2030).
The aforementioned campaign has been launched by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, stressed that the focus on entrepreneurship has become one of the topics that cannot be ignored because it is closely related to the issue of economic growth.

El-Said pointed out that the link between education and the economy is close, noting that developed countries are keen to integrate entrepreneurship into national educational strategies and initiatives.

El-Said explained that the "One Million Entrepreneurs" campaign targets Egyptian youth of all ages and groups.

She added that the campaign provides a complete online training program, with highly qualified trainers.

El-Said clarified that the entrepreneurship training programs are in both Arabic and English languages.

During the meetings with youth, Dr. Ghada Khalil, Director of the Rowad 2030 Project, explained that the goal of the project is to spread the idea of entrepreneurship and the culture of self-employment among young people, as well as the advancement of young competencies to achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic and social development.

Regarding the pillars of the Rowad 2030 project, Khalil explained that the project is based on three main pillars: (The first is Supporting Capacity-Building and Skills Development in the field of entrepreneurship), the second is (Expanding the Establishment and Development of Business Incubators), while the 3rd is (Increasing Educational and Community Awareness of the Importance of Implementing the Entrepreneurship and Innovation System).

Khalil also talked about the project’s provision of a master’s grant in entrepreneurship in cooperation with the University of Cambridge, and a grant to master business skills for entrepreneurs, as well as the provision of a specialized certificate in entrepreneurship, in addition to the project’s implementation of 9 business incubators.

Khalil stressed that the current stage is witnessing the cooperation of all parties in expanding the establishment of business incubators in all disciplines so that they have a good impact and cover all areas that lead to economic development.

"In the absence of an incubator in a specific field, the entrepreneur can go to a general incubator, which incubates all kinds of projects," Khalil said.

Khalil shed light on all the initiatives that support entrepreneurs, referring to the (Start Your Future) campaign, which was implemented in universities for about 20,000 students.

Khalil explained that the observance of sustainable development goals and the quality of education prompted the Rowad 2030 project to choose the best universities and scientific institutions to partner with them.

About the (One Million Entrepreneurs) campaign, Khalil asserted that it represents the largest platform of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Khalil noted that the platform deals with the presentation of the training program in Arabic, English, and sign language. It aims to introduce the idea of entrepreneurship to one million Egyptian youth, according to Khalil.
During the youth camp meeting at the Leaders Preparation Center inside the city of Benha, Dr. Ghada Khalil handed over the training certificates to the young people who registered on the Million Entrepreneur Campaign website and passed the first phase of training.

The open discussion has dominated attendees from young people, answering their inquiries and presenting their suggestions to benefit from them during the next stage.
