In preparation for the launch of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family : CDC holds 1st meeting of the committee to develop a training manual for religious leaders at the level of the Republic

The Demographic Center in Cairo (CDC) of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development held the first meeting of the committee responsible for developing a training manual for religious leaders at the level of the Republic.
The training comes in light of the preliminary steps to launch the national project for the development of the Egyptian family.
Egypt's Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Demographic Center in Cairo, Dr. Hala El-Said explained that the state seeks to address the population issue from a comprehensive development perspective, which aims to achieve a balance between resources and the requirements of population growth.
El-Said emphasized that the government's plan to deal with the population issue is based on integrating the efforts of all parties working to manage this issue through the implementation of a strategic plan with integrated dimensions and pillars for the development of the Egyptian family.
El-Said said that the main objective of that plan is to manage the population issue from a comprehensive perspective to improve the quality of life of the citizen and ensure the sustainability of the development process, by working to control population growth on the one hand, and improving population characteristics on the other hand, so that the Egyptian human force becomes an effective human force that obtains well educated, healthy, and a better quality of life.
For her part, Dr. Amira Tawadros, Director of the Demographic Center in Cairo, indicated that the meeting discussed the proposed executive steps for the cultural and awareness axis of the family development project, as well as the important role played by religious leaders in raising awareness of the population issue and its economic, social and humanitarian dimensions in general.
Dr. Amira Tawadros added that during the meeting, it was agreed to develop a focused action plan to finalize the training guide for religious leaders at the level of the Republic within weeks, in preparation for conducting training for religious leaders using this guide upon the official launch of the project.
The session was moderated by Dr. Amira Tawadros, Director of the Demographic Center, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Health and Population for Population Affairs, the Rapporteur of the National Population Council, a representative of the National Council for Women, the Ministry of Endowments, a representative of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II and the Coptic Orthodox Church), and representatives of Al-Azhar.
