The Minister of Planning and Economic Development meets with the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan to discuss areas of cooperation between the two countries

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development who is also acting as Governor of Egypt at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), met with Dr. Jamshid Kochkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of her participation in the forty-sixth annual meeting of the Bank Group, held in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.During the meeting, the two sides discussed areas of cooperation between the two countries and what is related to common files.El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, reviewed many important files that the ministry is working on in light of the presence of a large number of similar competencies between the two ministries, especially those related to public investments and controlling economic performance rates.During the meeting, El-Said also discussed the project of (A Decent Life) and what is related to rural development, as well as Egypt's experience on economic reform and the projects that the state is currently working on.For his part, Dr. Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction in Uzbekistan, praised Egypt's economic experience, especially concerning economic reform and major development projects, and Egypt's ability to achieve positive indicators, whether in growth or inflation rates, as well as its ability to provide electricity and energy projects in general and infrastructure.Kochkarov also praised the generous life project and expressed Uzbekistan's interest in cooperating with Egypt in the field of rural development in general.
Kochkarov reviewed the experience of Uzbekistan in many files, especially concerning issues of combating poverty and issues related to investment management.At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to form contact points between the two sides to discuss areas of cooperation, and proposals were presented to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
It is worth mentioning that El-Said's activities in Uzbekistan included many bilateral meetings, where she met with Dr. Muhammad bin Suleiman Al-Jasser, President of the Islamic Development Bank Group, to discuss issues of cooperation between Egypt and the Bank Group. She also met with Mr. Osama Al-Qaisi, CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit, and the insurance arm of the Islamic Development Bank Group, to discuss aspects of cooperation between Egypt and the institution, as well as with Engineer Hani Sonbol, CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation. El-Said participated in the side event "Sharia-compliant Green Finance" by default, the round table of the governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group, and she also delivered a speech at the opening of the 46th annual meeting of the Bank Group.It is noteworthy that Egypt succeeded in obtaining the approval of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank to organize the annual meetings of the bank's governors next year, for the first time in 30 years. Egypt will also host the 3rd meeting of the Governance Council of the Arab-African Trade Bridges (AATB) Program in Cairo next December, in addition to Egypt assuming the presidency of the council for a year.
