Ministers of Planning, Economic Development & International Cooperation and Education & Technical Education Follow up on Developments in Implementing the Education Sector's Investment Plan for Fiscal Year 2025/2026 and the Expansion of Technical Schools

Minister Al-Mashat:
“Egypt’s Narrative for Economic Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience” works to strengthen the efficiency and flexibility of the labor market and focuses on Applied Technology Schools to graduate qualified personnel.
The Ministry provides technical support to all ministries and entities to apply the “Adaa” (Performance) System to increase the efficiency of public spending and implement development plans.

The Government of Egypt is keen to place the education file at the forefront of its priorities.
The Ministry aims to continue directing investments in the education sector to improve the quality of the educational process and enhance it in all aspects.
H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic
Development and International Cooperation, met with H.E. Mr. Mohamed Abdel
Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, to discuss the priorities
of the Economic and Social Development Plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026
concerning the Ministry of Education and Technical Education.
During the meeting, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat underscored that
education represents a fundamental pillar for developing human resources and
increasing cognitive awareness to keep pace with contemporary developments and
the requirements of digital transformation and the transition to a knowledge
economy. She stressed that education is vital for positive interaction with
modern industrial and technological revolutions, maximizing the benefits
derived from them, and enhancing international competitiveness in various
fields.
Dr. Al-Mashat further emphasized that the state accords
great importance to developing and improving the educational system by
allocating resources to plan and implement projects aimed at enhancing the
quality of educational services, applying modern education technologies to
raise the efficiency of outputs, and paving the way for a new generation equipped
with better opportunities for learning.
She noted that the 2025/2026 Economic and Social Development
Plan is committed to securing the right to education for all citizens through
several mechanisms, including raising enrollment rates, reducing dropout
levels, narrowing the education gap between children in urban and rural areas,
expanding schools across all educational stages nationwide, and upgrading
technological infrastructure. The plan also includes strengthening the
scientific research system by updating the legislative framework, improving
governance, and developing the capacities of researchers.
The two ministers reviewed the Investment Plan for the
Ministry of Education and Technical Education for 2025/2026, with total
investments allocated by the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and
International Cooperation amounting to approximately EGP 30.5 billion.
Dr. Al-Mashat highlighted “Egypt’s Narrative for Economic
Development: Reforms for Growth, Jobs & Resilience,” noting that it
includes a special chapter on enhancing labor market efficiency and
flexibility. The Narrative emphasizes the expansion of technical schools and
Applied Technology Schools in partnership with the private sector to prepare
qualified personnel to meet the needs of the labor market.
She also pointed to the start of preparations for the
Economic and Social Development Plan within a medium-term budget framework,
beginning in fiscal year 2026/2027, underscoring that the national monitoring
and evaluation system, “Adaa” (Performance), is being applied to all entities
to ensure development plans are implemented effectively through measurable performance
indicators.
For his part, Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif affirmed that
education remains at the top of the State’s priorities, as reflected in ongoing
efforts to modernize the educational process, upgrade infrastructure, and
expand the number of schools across Egypt. He stressed that the Ministry seeks
to continue channeling investments toward improving the quality of education in
all aspects, ensuring that Egypt’s educational system keeps pace with rapid
global transformations.
The two ministers also referred to the Presidential
directives to raise the level of education in all respects, including the
establishment of Applied Technology Schools, which represent an effective model
for advancing technical education in Egypt. They further pointed to the
continued rollout of Japanese schools and schools of excellence in science and
technology, alongside strengthening education in fields such as mathematics,
physics, engineering, programming, and artificial intelligence.
