Minister of Planning meets with the candidate to head the Egyptian mission to the United Nations to discuss cooperation

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, received Dr. Ambassador Osama Abdel-Khaleq, nominated to head Egypt's permanent mission to the United Nations in New York, to discuss ways of cooperation.During the meeting, the Minister of Planning reviewed the most important areas of cooperation between the ministry and the UN institutions operating in Egypt and at the regional and international levels, as well as the most important projects and reports with which the ministry cooperates with UN agencies and offices.Dr. Hala El-Said also reviewed the most important events that the Ministry of Planning participated in, including side events on the sidelines of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, which was held last July in New York.El-Said noted that Egypt submitted the 3rd voluntary report on the sustainable development goals and to cooperate with the United Nations and the Arab League in preparing a report on financing for development supervised by Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which will be issued soon.El-Said asserted the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development’s aspiration to deepen cooperation with Egypt’s mission to the United Nations in issues of sustainable development, achieve international goals, coordinate at the highest level in the specific committees, and provide all data and studies that the mission may need to facilitate its mission.For his part, Ambassador Osama Abdel-Khaleq affirmed his aspiration to work and cooperate with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and all the ministries of the Egyptian government to continue the performance of Egypt's mission to the United Nations at the highest level to achieve the interests of the Egyptian state.
