The Rowad 2030 project of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development participated in the activities of the (Egypt Career Summit), which was held to raise job awareness, qualify young people for the requirements of the labor market, and preparing and empowering more qualified young cadres.



The event was held over two days at the Greek Campus “Greek Campus” in Cairo.


Dr. Ghada Khalil, director of the Rowad 2030 Project of the Ministry of Planning, gave a full explanation of the project, its vision, and the goal of establishing it.


Khalil explained that the goal of the project is to spread the idea of ​​entrepreneurship and the culture of self-employment among young people, following up on that the education axis is one of the main pillars that have been worked on since the project began.


Khalil pointed out that the project launched three important initiatives within the education pillar, including the Master of Entrepreneurship, which is being implemented with the University of Cambridge and in academic cooperation with The American University in Cairo, which submitted about 32,000 applications, prompted the holding of the third initiative, which included a diploma from the German University.


Khalil explained that the number of young graduates of these initiatives is large, and some of them have presented important projects.


Khalil talked about the second pillar of the work of the Rowad 2030 project, which is the focus of awareness, referring to the holding of the Start Your Future campaign, which was launched from public preparatory schools, along with holding training courses for these young people to introduce them to the entrepreneurship system.


Khalil explained that any student who has an idea outside the box is fully supported to implement it and turn it into a reality on the ground, following up that the campaign was not limited to schools only, but the campaign was also held at the university level, as it was implemented in more than 20 universities across Egypt.


On the third pillar of the project, which is concerned with business incubators, Khalil indicated that 9 business incubators have been implemented so far, including two incubators in artificial intelligence (AI), one at Alexandria University and the other at Ain Shams University, in addition to an incubator in the field of tourism.



Khalil talked about the Rowad Meter Observatory, the Million Entrepreneurs campaign, stressing that it represents the largest platform of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, and by talking about the ideas of young people in Egypt and their ranking among the countries of the Middle East and North Africa in terms of investing in startups.


Khalil explained that the ideas of the Egyptian youth are applicable, which contributes to pushing investors to contribute to its implementation as it is achievable, explaining that emerging companies contribute to diversifying sources of income and the recovery of the Egyptian economy in addition to providing and creating job opportunities.



It is worth noting that Rowad 2030 project set up a pavilion on the sidelines of the summit, in which the project team at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development participated to introduce the project, its objectives, campaigns, and initiatives, and how to participate in them.
