Within the "Your Work in Your Village" initiative: Ministers of Planning and Local Development witness the signing ceremony of the contract to establish the first industrial complex in Fayoum

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Local Development witnessed the signing ceremony of the contract for the establishment of the first industrial complex in Fayoum Governorate, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Local Development.
The signing came as part of the initiative of the Ministry and the Federation of Egyptian Industries “Your Work in Your Village” to provide job opportunities for youth and women.
The contract was signed by Dr. Ahmed El-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, Eng. Mohamed El-Sewedy, and President of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Eng. Mohamed El-Sayed, Assistant Minister of Local Development for Planning, Osama Saleh, and President of Ayady Misr for Urban Development, Eng. Union and company hands.
For her part, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Hala El-Said stressed that achieving sustainable development in its comprehensive concept requires advancing ways and mechanisms of effective cooperation and partnership between both the public and private sectors.
El-Said referred to the state’s interest in Micro-, Small-, and Medium-Enterprises (MSMEs), as the state aims, within the framework of the structural reforms program, to increase the share of small and medium enterprises from the total number of employees from 51% in 2020 to 60% in 2024, as well as increasing the percentage of workers in the sector from 12.5% in 2020 to a rate between 18-20% in 2024.
El-Said praised the efforts of the parties to the protocol to cooperate to activate the "Your Job in Your Village" initiative, which aims to build a base for medium, small and micro enterprises at the local level, and establish an integrated system to develop the Egyptian industry within the Egyptian villages around the country.
El-Said referred to the integration of this initiative with The Decent Life presidential initiative, which seeks to develop the Egyptian countryside, create job opportunities, raise standards of quality of life and provide basic services.
Moreover, El-Said emphasized the role of Ayadi, one of the companies owned by the National Investment Bank, which succeeded in doubling its capital and supported the small and medium enterprises sector.
The aforementioned company is targeting investment in micro-credit to support small artisans and craftsmen in the countryside in several governorates to take advantage of the comparative advantages in each governorate.
For his part, Major General Mahmoud Sharawy, Minister of Local Development, referred to the ministry's continuous efforts to implement the President's directives to develop Egyptian villages, develop the small, medium, and micro enterprises sector, and support the government's plans to confront unemployment among young people of both sexes.
The Minister of Local Development praised the support provided by the Minister of Planning to implement this initiative on the land of the governorates, expressing his hope that it would be a successful experiment to contribute to supporting the presidential initiative "a decent life" and creating job opportunities for villagers.
Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy stressed that the idea of this initiative, which has not been implemented before in the Egyptian villages, especially in the field of small projects, depends on the partnership relationship between the state and the private sector (Public-Private Partnership).
Shaarawy added that the "Your Work in Your Village" initiative is implemented by his ministry with the Federation of Egyptian Industries following the protocol signed between the two sides.For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari, Governor of Fayoum expressed his happiness at signing the contract to establish the industrial complex on the governorate’s land, on an area of 6000 square meters, and in cooperation between the private sector and the state.
Al-Ansari referred to the important initiative launched by the Ministry of Local Development during the last three years to provide job opportunities for the people of villages in the governorates.
Al-Ansari pointed out that there are many competitive advantages in the Fayoum governorate, which after exploiting them can help in providing job opportunities for the people of the governorate to improve the living conditions of citizens and provide them with a decent life.
For his part, Engineer Mohamed El Sewedy, head of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, said that this project was a dream that the Federation seeks to achieve in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Development and the governorates to find job opportunities and serve the Egyptian industry.
El Sewedy pointed out that the union, in cooperation with businessmen, inspected the plots of land that were provided in 4 governorates to ensure their suitability for the projects targeted for construction, which were proposed to be implemented by businessmen, investors, and industrial developers.
