The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) - the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development - held a symposium on the use of virtual simulation methods to enhance the goals of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the public and private sectors, under the auspices of the Minister of Planning.
The symposium was attended by Ms. Audrey Rochas, Founding President of Creative Slashers -a teacher and researcher in management at Sorbonne University. The symposium was moderated by Dr. Hanan Rizk, Director of the Training Network of Management Institutes in Africa (TNMIA).
The number of attendees was 136 trainees representing 32 African countries.Dr. Sherifa El-Sherif, Executive Director of NIGSD, said that the symposium aims to support and spread a culture of social responsibility in public and private sector organizations while achieving the greatest possible level of commitment and strengthening identity and a sense of belonging to the organization.
El-Sherif indicated that it has become imperative for organizations to redouble their efforts and seek to build deeper strategic relationships with the environment in which they affect and are affected, to be able to face challenges, especially those related to the requirements of sustainable development.

El-Sherif pointed out that the symposium was held by default, and focused on discovering the way to use virtual simulation and its mechanisms, introducing social responsibility and its role in community development, encouraging and supporting the consolidation of commitment and action, in addition to defining the role of social responsibility of organizations and its relationship to sustainable development goals.

El-Sherif stressed that it is important to accept corporate social responsibility as one of the basic activities rooted in the organization’s administrative and strategic activities.

She highlighted the importance of spreading awareness about issues related to it, including encouraging various sectors to participate effectively and realizing the importance of social responsibility in corporate governance.
The symposium reviewed the most important strategic objectives of the corporate social responsibility path and its role in embodying the dimensions and objectives of sustainable development.
