Minister of Planning & Economic Development witnesses a workshop on the results of the economic census

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, witnessed recently the proceedings of the first workshop on the papers related to the results of the economic census, which is part of a series of workshops to present the results of the fifth economic census 2017/2018.
During the workshop, two working papers were reviewed; the first was entitled “Determinants of Informality in Micro and Small Enterprises in Egypt”: Data Analysis of the Fifth Economic Census 2017/2018.The first paper was presented by Dr. Alia Al-Mahdi; it aims to study the main determinants and factors behind the spread of informality among small and micro enterprises and to suggest some policies to reduce the state of informality. The paper reviewed the most important characteristics of small and micro-enterprises.The second paper tackled idle energies based on economic census data, which was presented by Dr. Anwar Al-Naqib.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Ahmed Kamali, Deputy Minister, Dr. Jamil Helmy, Assistant Minister for Follow-up Affairs of the Sustainable Development Plan, and Dr. Reham Rizk, Head of the Modeling Unit at the Ministry.
Moreover, the workshop witnessed the presence of Dr. Maged Othman, President of the Baseera Center, Dr. Alia Al-Mahdi, former Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Dr. Hanan Gerges, Dr. Anwar Al-Naqib, Dr. Ola Al-Khawaja, Dr. Rasha Abdel Hakim, and Dr. Reem Abdel Halim.
