Ministers of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, and Youth and Sports Discuss the Latest Developments in The National Youth Sports Strategy (NYSS)

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic
Development, and International Cooperation, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of
Youth and Sports, held a bilateral meeting to discuss and review the progress
in preparing the National Youth Sports Strategy (NYSS), as well as exploring
funding opportunities available for the strategy's programs and projects.
H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat emphasized the necessity of
strengthening cooperation and integration among ministries and related
policies, while maximizing resources to reflect on the ability to implement
policies that have a direct impact on citizens, as this contributes to
increasing the growth rate of the Egyptian economy, establishing a sustainable
development plan, setting priorities and objectives, and collaborating with
international partners to support and implement financial policies.
Al-Mashat reviewed the funding opportunities available for
the programs and projects of the strategy with relevant multilateral and
bilateral development partners to ensure the achievement of the desired goals,
affirming the importance of strengthening partnerships with international and
local financing institutions to ensure the provision of necessary resources.
In the context of enhancing transparency and efficiency in
resource management, the two sides discussed the governance procedures for
grants and funding provided to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as it is one
of the key elements to ensure the optimal use of resources, and it is necessary
to apply transparent criteria to ensure the achievement of the desired goals of
these funds.
For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and
Sports, pointed to the ministry's efforts in preparing the National Youth
Sports Strategy (NYSS) until 2030, the extent of Egypt's progress in global
indicators related to youth and sports, and the procedures for governance and
strengthening international cooperation with various parties.
The Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and
International Cooperation reviewed the procedures for preparing the strategy,
emphasizing the need to align it with the Egypt Vision 2030 strategy and ensure
its compatibility with relevant international policies and indicators, in
addition to following up on Egypt's ranking in these global indicators to
ensure the achievement of the desired results.
