Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development witnessed on Wednesday the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministries of Planning and Agriculture regarding the development of the information infrastructure at the Ministry of Agriculture. The protocol was signed by M. Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development for the information infrastructure, and Dr. Ahmed Tobal, advisor to the Minister of Agriculture for digital transformation and automation of services. This came during the celebration of the launch of the electronic agricultural platform within the Egyptian digital agricultural network "AGRI MISR", which was organized by "E-Markets Egypt", a subsidiary of the "E-Finance" group of companies for financial and digital investments.Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said that the protocol comes within the framework of the Egyptian state's efforts towards developing the performance of government services for planning, following up, and monitoring state projects, as well as coordinating the plans of production and service ministries at the state level.
For his part, M. Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, the assistant minister, explained that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development adopted the establishment of an integrated spatial information infrastructure for the Egyptian state.He referred to the protocol signed by the ministry with the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces regarding the unification and integration of spatial data at the national level by creating base maps with the highest specifications.

Abdel Hafeez added that the protocol aims to develop a coordination mechanism that allows maximizing the benefits of the outputs of the spatial-information infrastructure integration project, to support the decision-maker at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in the context of preserving the agricultural area, following up on crops, limiting infringements on agricultural lands, and inventorying fisheries farms.
