The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by Eng. Khaled Mustafa, the Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, participated in a seminar on "Vision for Digital Health Strategies until 2030" virtually via video conference technology.

The symposium was organized by the Academy of Scientific Research, where the Ministry participated in the session "Egyptian Initiatives and Visions for Digital Health Strategies until 2030", which took place during the symposium's activities.

During the session, Eng. Khaled Mustafa discussed digital transformation: an introduction to the new republic, where he explained that digital transformation is part of a larger and more comprehensive transformation at the national level.
Mustafa stressed the importance of the transformation in the direction, though, and strategies of health care.
Mustafa added that the global digital revolution is a golden opportunity and a driver of major transformations in the world, the most important of which are the many developments in health care.
Moreover, he explained that the state is making many efforts in developing policies and providing resources and enablers for the transformation in the field of health care, adding that there is an essential role for various parties in the health care system, including civil society and the private sector, to push the transformation forward and quickly.

Mustafa also discussed some topics, most notably the Fourth Industrial Revolution, artificial intelligence, fifth-generation communications, and the data science revolution.
 He also reviewed some topics related to digitization in the service of health. The discussion also touched on the international goals and Egypt's Vision 2030 in terms of the principle of leaving no one behind, good health and well-being, as well as the quality of life by improving the quality of life of the Egyptian citizen and improving his standard of living, justice, social integration, and participation.

Mustafa referred to the launch of comprehensive health insurance, which represents the field of application of many digital technologies, and the system of births and deaths through instantaneous follow-up of births and deaths, which can be built on for more health follow-ups, in addition to the population strategy and the development of health characteristics, as well as mobile applications for health services and linking them with data. beneficiaries.
It is worth noting that the objective of the "Vision for Digital Health Strategies until 2030" seminar is to introduce the basic concepts of digital health and its most important areas and technologies.

The seminar also seeks to highlight the importance of developing a vision for digital health strategies, whether at the national or international level, especially in light of the unprecedented challenges the world is facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
