Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and
International Cooperation Meets with Several Members of the House of
Representatives and the Senate
H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic
Development, and International Cooperation, met with a number of members of
both the House of Representatives and the Senate at the Ministry's headquarters
in the New Administrative Capital. This meeting is part of a regular series
organized by the Minister to enhance communication channels with the Egyptian
House of Representatives and the Senate.
The meeting was attended by Members of Parliament (MPs) from
the House of Representatives, including MP Amin Massoud, MP Ahmed Abdel Salam,
MP Hani Khedr, MP Al-Husseini Galal, MP Mohamed Rady, MP Ali Ahmed Ali, and MP
Mohamed El-Samoudi. From the Senate, MP Abdel Same’e Youssef also participated,
alongside senior officials from the Ministry.
At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Minister Al-Mashat
welcomed the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate and
emphasized their pivotal role in discussing the economic and social development
plans and the agreements the state enters into with development partners. H.E.
Dr. Al-Mashat explained that the purpose of this meeting was to strengthen
communication with parliamentarians, to address their questions and concerns,
and to discuss citizens' demands.
H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat noted that the Ministry of
Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation is keen to
actively participate in various sessions held by the specialized committees of
the House of Representatives, to follow up on the implementation of the
economic and social development plan and partnerships with international
institutions and organizations. H.E. emphasized that these sessions and
discussions ensure the effective implementation of state projects through the
integration of government efforts and parliamentary oversight.
The meeting also addressed the demands of MPs regarding
services in their constituencies, as well as the status of several projects not
yet included in the current fiscal year's investment plan. In this regard, the
Minister affirmed the Ministry's commitment to thoroughly studying these
requests and taking the necessary actions accordingly.
The Minister also highlighted that the government is
implementing an economic and structural reform program aimed at enhancing
macroeconomic stability amid regional and global crises.
H.E. Dr. Al-Mashat pointed out that one of the key reforms
is setting a cap on public investments for the current fiscal year,
prioritizing projects that have achieved more than 70% of their implementation
progress. This is part of the effort to control inflation rates and to create
space for private sector investments, both domestic and foreign.
