H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and
Economic Development and International Cooperation, has arrived in Romania to chair
the 4th session of the Egyptian-Romanian Joint Committee on Economic,
Scientific, and Technical Cooperation. This visit follows her participation in
the Hamburg Sustainability Conference in Germany.
This participation aligns with the ministry’s ongoing
efforts to strengthen economic relations with development partners and other
countries, while also supporting development initiatives across various
sectors.
The 4th session of the Joint Committee aims to advance and
enhance bilateral economic relations between Egypt and Romania across all
fields, eliminate obstacles hindering progress, and increase mutual
investments.
H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat will co-chair the ministerial
committee alongside Mr. Ștefan Radu Oprea, Romanian Minister of Economy,
Entrepreneurship, and Tourism. Additionally, the minister will hold several
bilateral meetings with senior Romanian officials to discuss ways to strengthen
joint relations, development priorities for both countries, and shared
projects.
The committee’s agenda also includes the Egyptian-Romanian
Business Forum, which will gather Egyptian and Romanian business leaders to
explore ways to enhance economic cooperation, particularly through the active
role of the private sector. Discussions will focus on areas of mutual interest
and present investment opportunities in both countries, with a focus on
industries such as agricultural manufacturing, food production, healthcare,
pharmaceuticals, water, renewable energy, tourism, and information and
communications technology (ICT).
