Main / Media / News / Deputy Minister of Planning: The integrated system for the preparation and follow-up of the investment plan helps link all projects in the country with SDGs

07 July 2021

Dr. Ahmed Kamaly, Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development, said on Wednesday that the integrated system for preparing and following up the investment plan helps link all projects in the country with the goals of sustainable development and the government's action plan.
He stressed that there is currently great ease from different parties in introducing private projects and plans every year into the system. This came during a press conference held by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in the presence of Dr. Hala El-Said and the ministry’s high-ranking figures.

The conference was held to announce the details of the ministry’s success in including four additional Egyptian initiatives on the “Best Practices” that achieve the UN goals for sustainable development platform of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, among the best projects is the presidential initiative “Decent Life”, the Rowad 2030 project, the local development program in Upper Egypt and the integrated system for preparing.

Kamaly added that the integrated system for preparing and following up the investment plan is linked to the environmental and social dimension in all projects, not just the economic dimension.
Dr. Ahmed Kamaly also pointed to the importance of the issue of follow-up and evaluation, which is in the process of improving governance in the Egyptian state, as well as the efficiency of spending, especially the investment spending of the government.
Kamaly explained that the state currently owns a database for all investment projects, which enables the follow-up of these projects and the extent to which they achieve the goals of sustainable development.

Kamaly also indicated that the integrated system for the preparation and follow-up of the investment plan is undertaking the process of localizing sustainable development goals in the different governorates and setting these projects in terms of the extent to which they achieve their goals.
