“Be an Ambassador” initiative aims to build national capacities in sustainable development: Minister of Planning

Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) said that the “Be an Ambassador” initiative aims to build national capacities in the field of sustainable development through a series of training courses for various sectors and groups of people.
El-Said noted that these training courses are being held in cooperation with various stakeholders.
She added that training courses will continue to complete the training process of all the groups, successively, to graduate about 1,000 young men and women by the end of this year.
For her part, Dr. Sherifa El-Sherif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD), said that the “Be an Ambassador” initiative launched by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in cooperation with NIGSD has begun to bear fruit.
“Youth groups of graduates of the first batch of the “Be an Ambassador” initiative have started to launch many youth initiatives, apply what they have been trained on in the initiative, and contribute to spreading the culture of sustainability in society,” she added.
El-Sherif indicated that the initiative is divided into many levels, the first of which is the introductory level, which provides educational programs on communication skills on the institute's electronic educational platform "Estidama", then the advanced level, in which the trainee listens to lectures recorded on various sustainable development topics by the elite from the lecturers.
Moreover, there is the specialized level that deals with the training of trainers program, this one is direct training where the number of students is limited, the group does not exceed 25 students in one of the halls to ensure effective communication, taking into account the precautionary measures.
