10 September 2024

H.E. Dr. Rania A.  Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, met with General Dr. Mohamed Al-Zamlout, Governor of the New Valley, to follow up on the implementation of the 2024/2025 investment plan projects, and follow up the work progress of the integrated government services complex project in the governorate, as well as the population attraction project for the residential city in the Abu Tartour area.

During the meeting, H.E. the Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation emphasized the Ministry's keenness to follow up on the progress of the plan's projects at the governorate level, and to provide the necessary support to overcome the challenges that might confront the implementation of these projects, while taking into account the governance of investment expenditure within the framework of the directives of the political leadership.

The meeting discussed the decisions issued regarding the integrated government services complex project in the governorate, as well as the population attraction project for the residential city in the Abu Tartour area, referring to the directives of the Prime Minister to study the most appropriate use of the city's residential units and maximize their benefit in a manner consistent with the nature of the environment and contributing to improving the population characteristics of the community.

In this context,  Al-Mashat directed the necessity of coordinating the implementation of the directives related to the project that contributes to redistributing the population density to relieve the population pressure from the Nile Valley and Delta governorates and to form a series of model villages capable of addressing previous problems and investing current resources.

Regarding the integrated government services complex in the governorate, which is scheduled to open soon, Al-Mashat noted the keenness of the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation to cooperate and coordinate between the ministry and the governorate to implement the mandates and directives issued by the political leadership regarding the project, stressing the work to provide the necessary support to develop and upgrade the efficiency of the electricity system in the government interests complex in light of the directives issued regarding the governance of investment spending.
