16 July 2024
As part of ongoing efforts in technical support and capacity
building, with the participation of representatives from over 10 ministries and
authorities,
The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and
International Cooperation, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank,
organizes a workshop on Tender Evaluation Reports.
The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and
International Cooperation, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank,
conducted the second workshop of the year 2024 titled "Training Project
Implementers on Tender Evaluation Reports for European Investment Bank
Projects." The workshop was attended by representatives from ministries
including Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation,
Transportation, Housing, Electricity, Environment, Civil Aviation, Agriculture,
Irrigation, as well as their affiliated bodies, and the Micro, Small, Medium,
and Micro Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).
H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic
Development, and International Cooperation, emphasized that the European
Investment Bank is one of the largest multi-party development partners to the
Arab Republic of Egypt, and a key member of the Team Europe initiative. H.E.
Dr. Al-Mashat highlighted the bank's role in supporting a wide range of
developmental projects across vital economic sectors. The workshop, H.E.
Minister Al-Mashat added, underscores the ministry's commitment to coordinating
with Egyptian entities and development partners to ensure effective project
implementation, maximize available funding, overcome challenges, and thereby
achieve economic development goals. H.E. Dr. Al-Mashat noted that the workshop
builds on existing coordination between the ministry and the European
Investment Bank, focusing on specialized technical training workshops related
to project implementation phases with the bank.
The workshop aimed to familiarize project implementers with
the elements and requirements to be included in evaluation reports for various
tenders conducted under ongoing projects, which are submitted to the bank for
review and feedback. Training sessions included a review of best practices and
successful models in this regard, and were conducted by the Procurement Sector
at the bank's Cairo headquarters.
Earlier this year, the ministry, in coordination with the
European Investment Bank, organized the first workshop titled "Training
Project Implementers on Contract Management for European Investment Bank
Projects," in March, with the participation of 65 representatives from
various national entities including ministries of Transportation, Environment,
Electricity, Civil Aviation, Agriculture, Irrigation, Housing, and the Micro,
Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).
