H.E.Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, now Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, has officially commenced her responsibilities at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development following her swearing-in ceremony before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. This transition underscores a pivotal moment in Egypt’s economic strategy, highlighting a renewed commitment to strategic planning and sustainable development.


In her initial engagements with senior ministry officials, Minister Al-Mashat articulated a comprehensive vision aimed at steering Egypt towards robust economic growth. Central to her strategy is the integration of planning and economic development with international cooperation, aimed at optimizing administrative efficiency, enhancing policy coherence, and fostering an environment conducive to economic reform initiatives.


Dr. Al-Mashat emphasized the importance of setting clear national priorities to attract investments and stimulate private sector involvement. Key objectives include advancing industrial localization efforts, strategically investing in human capital development, and utilizing planning tools to effectively implement presidential directives aimed at economic revitalization.


The minister underscored the critical role of key sectors such as healthcare and education in Egypt’s developmental trajectory. She outlined initiatives aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure, enhancing educational outcomes, and fostering technological innovation as integral components of the country’s economic strategy.


Regarding Egypt’s global engagements, Minister Al-Mashat highlighted the strategic alignment of national projects with international frameworks and partnerships. She emphasized the ministry’s commitment to leveraging these partnerships to optimize resource allocation, attract foreign investment, and promote sustainable economic development initiatives beneficial to all segments of society.


Dr. Al-Mashat also extended congratulations to H.E.Dr. Hala El-Said on her appointment as Economic Affairs Advisor to the President, recognizing her contributions to economic planning. She expressed confidence in Dr. El-Said’s ability to advance Egypt’s economic agenda in collaboration with the ministry.


Minister Al-Mashat reiterated her commitment to advancing Egypt’s economic prosperity through proactive governance, strategic planning, and effective policy implementation. Her leadership aims to build upon past successes and pave the way for a resilient and prosperous future for Egypt.
