Planning Ministry Hosts AI Workshop to Boost Government Efficiency

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, represented by the Central Administration for Strategic Management in collaboration with the Digital Transformation Unit, held a workshop on "Latest Government Technologies - Artificial Intelligence" in cooperation with Microsoft. The workshop aimed to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) and explore its potential integration to develop the ministry's strategy and daily tasks, thereby supporting the ministry’s efforts toward achieving its strategic goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.
The workshop covered the ministry's areas of work to achieve sustainable development, formulate effective policies, and optimize management based on good governance principles. It also discussed impact monitoring studies to achieve the ministry's strategic goals.
The workshop emphasized the need to identify suitable AI applications for the Ministry of Planning and develop a plan to leverage this technology to achieve several key objectives, including economic advancement, efficient public investment spending, digital transformation, and institutional excellence.
This workshop is part of the ministry's efforts to enhance the capabilities of its workforce and provide them with the necessary tools to ensure work quality. It aligns with the ministry's pursuit of keeping pace with technological advancements to support its staff within a framework of guiding values such as innovation and dynamic work. The workshop focused on several topics, including the definition of AI, its components, its uses in government, its various applications according to different functions, and how to benefit from it, as well as the ethics of using AI in work.
