The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has outlined in a recent report the features of the citizen investment plan for Matrouh Governorate for 2023/2024. This announcement is part of the ongoing effort to release the citizen plan for all governorates in Egypt for the fifth consecutive year. The aim is to raise awareness among citizens about the directions and priorities of the sustainable development plan for the fiscal year 2023/2024 and its role in achieving "Egypt Vision 2030."
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, emphasized that the updated version of Egypt Vision 2030 places significant importance on ensuring citizen participation in making development-related decisions. This participation benefits people as the core of development, achieves spatial justice, reduces geographic disparities, empowers local communities economically and socially, and provides basic services across all geographical areas to foster real development in society. She explained that these principles align with the General Planning Law of the State No. 18 of 2022, which prioritizes enhancing the participation of key stakeholders in the development process and encourages scientific research and innovation for sustainable, geographically and sectorally balanced, and environmentally sustainable development. Dr. El-Said added that citizen participation in the development process will not happen without providing detailed data on the state's development plans, enabling them to monitor their implementation regularly within a comprehensive and integrated framework to promote participatory planning.
