Minister of Planning and Economic Development Meets with Qatari Finance Minister to Discuss Enhancing Bilateral Relations

H.E.Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, met with Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, Minister of Finance of Qatar, on the sidelines of the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions in Cairo, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for strengthening and developing Egyptian-Qatari relations in key mutual investment areas, in addition to discussing a number of topics of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Dr. Hala El-Said highlighted the positive developments in political and economic relations between the two countries, marked by the exchange of visits and the resumption of joint cooperation frameworks. These efforts aim to strengthen bilateral relations in a manner that supports both countries’ aspirations for establishing security, stability, development, and political coordination on regional issues, especially those affecting Arab joint action, which benefits both parties.
Dr. Hala El-Said also emphasized the role of The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE), which serves as the state’s investment arm in achieving sustainable development and preserving the rights of future generations by utilizing and maximizing the value of state assets. She stressed that the fund is a distinguished partner for the private sector and has garnered regional and international trust, successfully attracting foreign investors. She pointed out the cooperation between TSFE and the Qatar Investment Authority.
Additionally, Dr. Hala El-Said mentioned that Qatar was one of the key countries targeted during the Gulf tour conducted by TSFE to explore enhanced investment partnerships.
