Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, received recently the Indian Ambassador to Cairo Ajit Gupte to discuss aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development welcomed Ambassador Ajit Gupte and wished him success in his work in Cairo.
El-Said stressed the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and India, where the two countries are linked by historical relations.Dr. Hala El-Said expressed her wishes for a speedy recovery to those infected with the new Coronavirus in India and a decrease in the number of infected people.
During the meeting, El-Said reviewed a number of the ministry's work files. She also referred to the features of Egypt's Vision 2030 and the modernization process that is carried out on the vision to keep pace with global developments, as well as the features of the state's investment plan.
The Minister also reviewed some development projects that are being implemented, on top of which is the Haya Karima [Decent life] Presidential initiative as well as the work areas of the Ministry of Planning agencies, which include the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMS), the INP-Institute of National Planning- and the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD).
El-Said also referred to the internal units of the ministry, including the modeling unit, the sustainable development unit, and the macroeconomic unit, following up on the talk about the “Rowad 2030” project and what it offers in spreading the idea of entrepreneurship and self-employment among young people.


For his part, Ajit Gupte, Indian Ambassador to Egypt, referred to the historical Egyptian-Indian relations, wishing for the expansion of Egyptian-Indian economic relations.
The Indian ambassador stressed the success of the Indian companies’ experiences in Egypt and wished them to be replicated and expanded, adding that there are many opportunities for cooperation with Egypt in the health field and many different industries. The two parties also concluded the meeting by exchanging souvenirs.
