20 May 2024
The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, in collaboration with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development—the ministry's training arm—the USAID-funded Economic Governance Project, and PRisk Company, has launched the first session of the second phase of project management skills training for state administrative staff.
Dr. Hala El-Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, stated that this training program underscores the ministry's commitment to equipping project managers with the competencies and skills required to manage projects and programs according to internationally recognized standards. The initiative aims to disseminate and develop a project and program management methodology within work practices and to build qualified and professional cadres within the state administrative units.
El-Said emphasized that investing in human resources is a priority for the Egyptian state, as it is the foundation of construction and development. She referred to Prime Minister's Decree No. 1146 of 2018, which introduced the strategic management organizational division, and the Decree of the Head of the Central Agency for Organization and Administration No. 86 of 2019, which mandated the Ministry of Planning to provide the necessary technical support to all units of the state's administrative apparatus in project and program management and performance.
It is worth noting that the first session of the program includes 25 project managers from various state administrative leadership positions in the Ministries of Finance, Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Transport, Civil Aviation, Health and Population, Local Development, Education and Technical Education, and Social Solidarity.
