Planning Ministry Releases Report on Collaborative Electronic Voting Project with Administrative Prosecution Authority

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has issued a comprehensive report detailing the collaborative electronic voting project with the Administrative Prosecution Authority. The report outlines the implementation process and key entities involved in conducting elections under this innovative system.

Dr. Hala El Said, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, emphasized that the electronic voting program aims to modernize the information infrastructure and streamline services provided by the Administrative Prosecution Authority. By introducing advanced technologies, the program seeks to create an integrated information society, simplifying government service procedures for both individuals and institutions while ensuring the integrity of the voting process.

Eng. Ashraf Abdel Hafeez, Assistant Minister of Planning for Digital Transformation, highlighted the use of touchscreen displays for candidate selection, replacing traditional paper ballots. The system employs specialized encryption technology to guarantee the security and accuracy of the voting process, from sorting to tallying votes.

The report cited various elections overseen by the Administrative Prosecution Authority using the electronic voting system, including those of the Administrative Prosecution Authority Club, Music Professions Syndicate, Wafd Party, Hajj and Umrah Association for Administrative Prosecution members, and the 9% Insurance Fund for judicial employees and affiliated entities.

Additionally, prominent elections conducted using the electronic voting system were noted, such as those of the Ahmed Orabi Association, Applied Syndicate, Music Professions Syndicate, Central Guides Association within the General Union of Scouts of Egypt, and the General Union of Scouts. Furthermore, the election of the president of the Sports Club of the State Cases Authority was conducted using the same system in January of the previous year.

The report also detailed recent electronic voting activities, including the election of syndicate presidents and board of directors in various governorates, as well as the simulation model for the Parliament of the Vanguard elections and the implementation of the electronic signature system for seamless integration with the electronic voting program.
